What do we do?
We are a relatively new organisation in Baildon. Our aims are:
To identify protect and preserve the historical buildings and spaces of Baildon
To create a blue plaque trail of historical people and places
Hold bi-monthly talks on local history
Provide displays for Baildon library about Civic & Historical topics
Organise Baildon’s annual celebration of Yorkshire Day and other events
We would welcome
Trustees to help run the Society – up to 12 meetings per year - 2 hours on a Saturday morning,
People with an interest in historical building to help with Heritage listing of unprotected buildings
Ushers/stewards/helpers to assist with events such as:
Regular talks at Baildon Golf Club
(Monday evenings at 7.30 pm to 9.30pm, six times per annum)
Our stall at Baildon Carnival in July
Yorkshire Day celebrations on and around the 1st & 2nd August
Our Yorkshire Day Ceilidh
