What do we do?

We are a relatively new organisation in Baildon. Our aims are:

  • To identify protect and preserve the historical buildings and spaces of Baildon

  • To create a blue plaque trail of historical people and places

  • Hold bi-monthly talks on local history

  • Provide displays for Baildon library about Civic & Historical topics

  • Organise Baildon’s annual celebration of Yorkshire Day and other events

We would welcome

Trustees to help run the Society – up to 12 meetings per year - 2 hours on a Saturday morning, 

People with an interest in historical building to help with Heritage listing of unprotected buildings

Ushers/stewards/helpers to assist with events such as:

  • Regular talks at Baildon Golf Club

  • (Monday evenings at 7.30 pm to 9.30pm, six times per annum)

  • Our stall at Baildon Carnival in July

  • Yorkshire Day celebrations on and around the 1st & 2nd August

  • Our Yorkshire Day Ceilidh
